Ladurée

La Durée is a macaron institution that's even expanded to branches all around the world. We went to the branch in Limare and it's such an elegant and cute shop full of gorgeous treats. We got flavors such as bitter almond, orange blossom, milk chocolate coated hazelnut, passion, sweet clover, and our two favorites: the addicting Strawberry Candy and the unique Marie Antoinette which even had some citrus flavors to it. They also offer treats called Eugenie which is basically a chocolate-coated biscuit with a gooey center. These are great if you want something different. Though La Durée is expensive, the flavors are unique and it’s understandable how challenging it is to make picture-perfect macarons, as the process can be quite intricate and humbling.
